Session of the Board of Directors of BC Partizan was held, during which numerous important decisions were made.
The most significant decision is that Zarko Paspalj is the new sporting director of Partizan, replacing Zoran Savic, who resigned following the situation with Zeljko Obradovic.
It was also decided that Mirko Ocokoljic will lead the team against Bayern in the 14th round of the EuroLeague. Partizan released a statement following this decisions.
“The Board of Directors of Partizan Mozzart Bet held a session this afternoon in the club’s premises to make strategic decisions regarding operations following the irrevocable resignation of coach Zeljko Obradović and the departure of sports director Zoran Savic. With the presence of most board members, new circumstances were noted and a direction for the work of the black-and-white sports sector was adopted.
At the proposal of president Ostoja Mijailovic, the present board members unanimously elected Zarko Paspalj as the new sports director of BC Partizan. The legendary basketball player and sports official has thus returned to his Partizan to lead the sports sector during these difficult times and to put his extensive knowledge and experience in service of resolving all open issues. Zarko Paspalj enjoys full support from the Board of Directors in selecting his associates, finding solutions for the coaching position, and creating conditions for the club to make a results breakthrough compared to the current course of the season.
Until the selection of a new head coach, the team will be led from the bench by coach Mirko Ocokoljic.”
Partizan’s next game is on Thursday, when they will play against Bayern Munich in Belgrade in the 14th round of the EuroLeague.
