Real Madrid claimed a win in the opening game of Round 14 of the EuroLeague by beating Anadolu Efes in Istanbul with a 81-75 score.
Mario Hezonja had a phenomenal game for the visitors, leading the team with 22 points. Trey Lyles added 11, while Chuma Okeke was also in double figures with 10 points.
For Anadolu Efes, coached on this occasion by Radovan Trifunovic, Rolands Smits scored 21 points, while Ercan Osmani finished with 18 (4/4 for three). The Turkish team was without Shane Larkin, PJ Dozier, Vincent Poirier and Georgios Papagiannis for this game.
Osmani’s three-pointer gave Efes hope, but Facundo Campazzo immediately responded by hitting a decisive three-pointer in the game (72-77). After that, there was no comeback for Trifunovic’s team.
Real recorded its eighth win against six losses and will host Baskonia in the next round. On the other side, Anadolu Efes now stands at 5–9 and will visit Valencia in the next round.
