Vildoza steals the ball as Virtus beats Dubai

Luka Vildoza was the hero of the night as Virtus Bologna got a big home win

Carsen Edwards scored 23 points, but this was Luca Vildoza’s night.

The Argentian point guard scored 11 points, including the go-ahead three pointer, dished five assists and had also four steals in the 79-78 win over Dubai Basketball.

Vildoza secured the win with a steal over Filip Petrusev in the closing seconds, as the guests had the ball but ultimately no the chance to win the game.

Justin Anderson with 16 points was the top scorer of Dubai which dropped to 6-8 while Bologna improved to a 7-7 record and a tie with Milan on the 11th spot of the standings.

Virtus opened the game leading 26-17 after the first period, but at halftime, Dubai was up by five (44-39) despite Edwards already having 17 points.

Virtus got the lead again (54-50) after two free throws by Matt Morgan and a three by Alen Smailagic, still Dubai closed the third quarter up by two (56-54).

It was obvious that everything will go down the wire with Virtus leading 76-75 entering the last two minutes after a three by Luca Vildoza.

Avramovic answered back with a three (78-76) for Dubai, Vildoza scored again one more three-pointer (79-78) and with 13 seconds left on the clock the guests had the last possesion.

Petrusev got the ball, Vildoza stole it and the game was over.
