Real Madrid reacted just in time to get an important win at home against Paris Basketball (95-90).
Theo Maledon (21 p.) and Edy Tavares (16 p.) were Scariolo’s team’s top scorers on the night that Maledon made history, scoring the one-millionth point in EuroLeague history.
“Maybe EuroLeague can send me a gift for that” said the French guard, smiling after the final buzzer, but the gift for Madrid was the 10th EuroLeague win of the season.
The Spanish squad is now 10-7 in the standings. Andrés Feliz did not play for Real Madrid.
For the losing side, Jared Rhoden (19 p.), who also had an amazing dunk against Tavares and Yakuba Ouattara (14 p.), stepped up in the game; still, coach Tabellini’s team dropped to 5-12.
Paris showed no fear of Real Madrid in the first half (49-50), with Rhoden scoring 15 points.
The guests led by eight (61-53) in the second half and entered the last period up by four (74-70). That was the cue for Madrid to react, first tying the score at 80, getting an 8-1 run after that (88-81), and not losing the lead again after that.
