Panathinaikos defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 93-82 on its home court in Round 17 of EuroLeague, with Ergin Ataman’s team being led to the win by Kendrick Nunn.

The American guard scored 19 points, most of them in the second half, and carried his team even though his participation was in doubt due to injury.

After the game, Nunn spoke precisely about his condition.

“Firstly, I want to thank God for my ability. I’ve had some discomfort in my ankle over the past few days, but when it’s game time, the adrenaline kicks in, and I give everything I can to the game.”

He continued by explaining what drives him to push through the pain:

“The big games. We played against Fenerbahce, the reigning champions, and Hapoel, who are number one at the moment. Two big games, so I’ll be on the court unless I’m on crutches. If I can, I will play. Two big games, I’m ready.”

Panathinaikos is now on 11-6 score and will visit Zalgiris in the next round.
