Carsen Edwards suffered an ankle injury in Friday’s game against Olympiacos, corresponding to round 18 of the Euroleague.
The Virtus Bologna’s star suffered a sprained right ankle, and the ligament is affected as well. He will be reevaluated in the next few days.
The Italian team made a statement about the situation of their guard:
Virtus Bologna announces that during the first quarter of the game against Olympiacos, Carsen Edwards suffered a sprained right ankle with ligament involvement. The player, who attempted to finish yesterday’s game, has already begun specific therapy and will be reevaluated in the coming days.
Edwards is averaging 17.7 points per game in the Euroleague, leading Virtus to an 8-10 record. It could be a very significant loss for Dusko Ivanovic’s team.
