Olympiacos claimed a victory in Round 21 of the EuroLeague, defeating Bayern Munich in Piraeus by a score of 95–80.

Sasha Vezenkov once again delivered a brilliant performance against Bayern, a team against which he once posted a performance index rating of 52, still the sixth-best mark in EuroLeague history.

The Bulgarian scored 25 points (10/12 from the field) with four assists and three rebounds, Nikola Milutinov was excellent with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Tyson Ward added ten. Georgios Bartzokas was again without Frank Ntilikina and Shaquielle McKissic, while Tyrique Jones was on the bench but did not make his debut.

Unfortunately for the Greek team, Monte Morris suffered an injury and is expected to take a break, as the situation did not look good at first glance.

On the other side, Andreas Obst continued his fine form and finished the game in Greece with 21 points, while David McCormack added 13 along with eight rebounds. Isaiah Mike also scored 13 points, with seven rebounds.

It turned out that the third quarter was decisive for the home team. Bayern held on well and trailed by only two at halftime (49–47), but a 10–2 run by the home team pulled Olympiacos away, and they never relinquished the lead until the final buzzer.

Olympiacos finished the double week with a 1–1 record and currently sits at 12 wins and eight losses in the EuroLeague, which is enough for eighth place. In the next round, Georgios Bartzokas’s team will visit Partizan.

On the other hand, Bayern’s loss snapped a run of six straight wins in all competitions, and they now stand at 7–14, in 15th place. The next round brings the Bavarians a clash with Panathinaikos in Munich.
