Fabien Causeur, one of the most decorated French basketball players of the 21st century, has officially retired.
Real Madrid, among others, shared this information on their social media, where Fabien won 14 trophies.
“In light of Fabien Causeur’s announcement of his retirement from professional basketball, Real Madrid C.F. would like to express its gratitude, affection, and admiration for one of our legends.
Causeur played a decisive role in the team’s successes during one of the brightest and most memorable periods in our history, over the course of seven seasons and 486 games wearing our jersey. During that time, he won 14 titles: 2 EuroLeague Cups, 4 Leagues, 2 Copa del Reys, and 6 Spanish Super Cups.
Causeur is the third foreign player with the most games played in our team’s history. His commitment and talent will always remain in the memory and hearts of all Madrid fans.
Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.”
Causeur began his career at Le Havre, then moved to Cholet, played four years at Baskonia, and one year at Brose Bamberg before arriving in Madrid in 2017.
He spent seven great seasons with Real, and his last club was Olimpia Milano.
