Returning to the Gaston Médecin Arena for the first time since leaving Monaco midway through last season, Saša Obradović led Crvena zvezda to a dramatic 100–96 overtime win over the French side, completing a head-to-head sweep.

After the game, the Serbian coach shared his impressions.

Congratulations to my entire team. I think we did an excellent job, especially in the first half, when we had full control of the game. In the end, we defended at a very high level,” Obradović said.

Obradović worked with the core of this Monaco roster for several seasons, coaching the team from 2021 to 2024.

You know the players, the system, and what you can expect from each of them, but it’s never easy — even when you know everything about them. Monaco were the EuroLeague leaders, and we found a way to win in this arena, which is an outstanding achievement for us. This is a very important victory, but it’s just one, and many challenges still lie ahead.

Crvena zvezda is now riding a mini road streak, having recorded back-to-back away wins against Olimpia Milano and Monaco.

The confidence we’ve gained from these two games — the victories in Milan and Monaco — gives you belief that this team can do great things in the future,” Obradović concluded.
