Dimitris Giannakopoulos made a new and somewhat “cryptic” post following Panathinaikos’ shock defeat to Kolossos at OAKA in the Stoiximan GBL.
The owner of the “Greens” posted a video on his Instagram story and addressed the EuroLeague and FIBA, asking whether there should also be protection for team owners.
As justification, he mentioned that such protection should relate to problems created within the team by players and coaches. Giannakopoulos said the following: “I agree that players’ contracts should be guaranteed. I agree that there must be protection for players — my family has proven at every moment that it respects every person who does their job. But shouldn’t the EuroLeague also protect owners when players and coaches cause such problems to the club, or to any company?”
Shortly before that, the Panathinaikos owner had posted another story, where he wrote : “What sins am I paying for?”
