Fournier delivered a career performance in Kaunas, which unfortunately did not translate into a win for Olympiacos, as the Reds fell to Zalgiris 99–94 after double overtime.

The French international star posted a EuroLeague career-high in both points and rebounds, finishing with 32 points (7/8 FT, 5/12 2PT, 5/9 3PT), nine rebounds (seven defensive, two offensive), three assists, one steal, one block, and four fouls drawn in 32:10 minutes of action.

Speaking to Nova’s “Playmakers” shortly after the final buzzer, Fournier made it clear that there was no real issue regarding the final play of regulation, when Bartzokas was seen shouting intensely and urging him to pass to the open Tyler Dorsey.

Coach felt like I had Tyler open on the right. From my perspective, it’s hard — I’m not even sure what was on the clock. Coach and I got into it. It’s a high-emotion game. He’s extremely competitive, I’m extremely competitive. Stuff like that happens when you have competitive guys. I love the coach. I’ve moved on already. Sometimes tension explodes. We have strong blood — that competitive blood. The emotions came out. I love Coach B. There’s nothing to it,” Fournier said.
