Olimpia Milano secured a victory in the 30th round of the EuroLeague, defeating Barcelona 87-84 in front of their fans.
Zach LeDay led his team to victory with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Leandro Bolmaro added 13, one more than Josh Nebo and Shavon Shields, while Armoni Brooks scored 11 points. On the other hand, Jan Vesely and Tornike Shengelia had 15 points, while Tomas Satoransky contributed with 11.
Giuseppe Poeta’s team delivered an excellent performance, despite losing Bryant Dunston and Diego Flaccadori before the match. The Italians played three masterful quarters, winning the third 32-17, thus turning the game in their favor (78-51).
Xavi Pascual’s team managed to reduce the deficit in the final quarter, winning it 33-9, but they could only soften the defeat. Tomas Satoransky hit two consecutive three-pointers to bring his team within two points (86-84) with four seconds remaining. Shields made one free throw, and then Shengelia missed a half-court three-pointer to tie the game.
Olimpia Milano is now 11th in the EuroLeague standings with a record of 15-15, and in the next round, they will host Maccabi Tel Aviv. On the other hand, Barcelona has 17 wins and 13 losses, and in eight days, they will host Hapoel Tel Aviv.
