In a rematch of last season’s EuroLeague final, Fenerbahce easily defeated Monaco (88-70) in Istanbul on Thursday, in the 30th round of the EuroLeague.

Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team was in the lead throughout the game and ultimately convincingly overcame the guests, who have been in a serious crisis since the beginning of the year.

The entire situation in the club has obviously affected the players, and in the final moments of the match, there was a conflict between Mike James and Elie Okobo. Okobo did not initiate the last attack for his team, which James seemed to resent, and after a brief verbal exchange, Mike pushed Okobo.

The day after the game and the incident, James addressed the situation on social media, where he apologized to everyone, especially to Okobo and his family.

“So this is my public apology for how i handled the end of the game yesterday. To my brother Elie and the Okobo family i apologize. It’s embarrassing for us all and i definitely should have handled it differently and let my emotions get the best of me.”

Monaco is in the tenth place in the EuroLeague with a record of 16-14, and they will seek to find a way out of their crisis on their home court in the match against Olympiacos.
