Panathinaikos lost to Olympiacos; the Greens remain in a very tough spot, but that doesn’t change the outlook of coach Ergin Ataman.
The coach who led the Greeks to the 2024 EuroLeague trophy still believes that his team can turn things around.
As he said in the press conference after the game: “We believe in this team since the start of the season. Nigel (Hayes-Davis) just joined us and played his second EuroLeague game today. Mathias (Lessort) will return this week. We’ll keep going until the end; our goals remain the same. We aim to reach the Playoffs first, then the Final Four. We believe we’ll achieve this because we have a fantastic roster”.
However, Ataman also admits that the EuroLeague season can end on a very bad note: “If we don’t reach these goals, then we can say we’ve had a failed EuroLeague season.”
Speaking earlier about the game, Ataman said: “We were much better in the second half. We narrowed the gap and got back into the game, but they hit two threes with Dorsey. That handed them the control. I congratulate Olympiacos.”
