Real was a much better team in the Spanish derby and deservedly came away with a convincing win. The visitors held their own until midway through the second quarter, even taking the lead at times, but the hosts went on a 13-5 run and went into halftime with an eight-point lead (51-43).
Real didn’t let up at the start of the second half, quickly pulling away to a 19-point lead (67-48), and they comfortably maintained their lead for another elite victory.
The two teams are now tied for third place in the EuroLeague with a 20-11 record. Real Madrid will visit Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round, while Valencia will play another Spanish derby, this time against Barcelona.
