What a game in Monaco.
It came down to the wire, and Matthew Strazel delivered the decisive blow, scoring the game-winning basket with four seconds remaining as Monaco defeated Olympiacos 81–80.
In the first game since coach Vassilis Spanoulis’ departure, and with Manuchar Markoishvili guiding the team from the bench, Monaco played with only nine players. With Elie Okobo also added to the injury list, they still showed remarkable character to secure a big win.
In the end, Mike James — who was a game-time decision to play and suffered an injury late in the game — finished with 14 points, while Jaron Blossomgame and Daniel Theis added 13 points each for the winning side.
On the other end, in the absence of Sasha Vezenkov, Tyler Dorsey led the scoring with 19 points and Alec Peters added 17. However, it was Nikola Milutinov who shined the brightest, posting a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for a game-high PIR of 30, but missed a tough three-pointer at the buzzer for the win.
