Despite Barça’s extremely difficult situation, having lost the derby against Joventut Badalona, and even with Xavi Pascual making a public appeal for help, stating that if they want to win, everyone has to win, there will be no changes at Barça.
Minutes after being re-elected as a member of Joan Laporta’s board, which secured another five years in office after a landslide victory in the elections, Josep Cubells was interviewed by Gerard Romero and spoke briefly about the basketball section he heads.
During the interview, the host of ‘Jijantes’ asked him if he was prepared to turn things around for Barça’s basketball team, a question to which Cubells responded succinctly: “The basketball team will obviously have to be strengthened for next year. Everything is already planned. I’m also confident that this year, the team will bounce back and fight for the remaining titles.”
