Hapoel Tel Aviv secured another victory in the EuroLeague, defeating Virtus in the 32nd round of the competition in Sofia with a score of 109-91.
The top scorer for the winning team was Jonathan Motley with 22 points, Antonio Blakeney added 14, as did Daniel Oturu, Vasilije Micic had 12 points and five assists, and Collin Malcolm also contributed 12 points.
On the other side, Virtus traveled to Sofia with only ten players, and the standout performers were Matt Morgan with 24 points and Derick Alston Jr., also with 24. Alen Smailagic finished the game with ten points.
Hapoel entered the game as the heavy favorite, a status they confirmed by achieving an easy victory. The Israelis gained a significant lead in the first quarter (34-19), and the second lineup increased it to a maximum of +34 in the second quarter (61-27). The visitors managed to slightly reduce the deficit towards the end, but Hapoel still achieved a convincing victory.
Hapoel continued their climb up the standings and is now tied for third place with a record of 20-11, and in the next round, they will visit Real Madrid. On the other hand, Virtus is at 13-19 and will face Olimpia Milano in the Italian derby in the next round.
