The EuroLeague clash between Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet and FC Barcelona faces an unexpected delay

The Round 34 clash of the 2025–26 EuroLeague Regular Season between FC Barcelona and Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet has been delayed by 30 minutes following an unusual equipment mishap. Originally scheduled for 20:30 on Friday evening, the tip-off at the Palau Blaugrana will now take place at 21:00 local time.

As relayed by Arena Sport, the delay was triggered by the Serbian side’s jerseys being damaged during washing in Barcelona. This logistical crisis forced the Belgrade club to arrange for a fresh set of uniforms to be flown in from Serbia on short notice.

Euroleague Basketball has officially confirmed the delayed tipoff.

With the new equipment expected to arrive just in time, both teams are now preparing for a slightly later start.

Completing the latest double-game week on the continental schedule, Barca and Zvezda enter this matchup with identical 19-14 records, finding themselves locked in a five-way tie for the middle of the table. With only five games remaining in the Regular Season, every possession carries the weight of a season’s worth of work. The difference between finishing sixth, securing a direct flight to the 2026 Playoffs, and falling into the volatile Play-In Showdown is razor-thin.

Beyond the jersey drama, Barcelona must find scoring and playmaking from deep within their bench as they cope with the absences of Juan Nunez and the veteran leadership of Nicolas Laprovittola. The visitors are missing the frontcourt presence of Donatas Motiejunas and the perimeter threat of Isaiah Canaan, while the status of Ebuka Izundu remains uncertain.
