Svetislav Pesic, the coach of Bayern Munich, gave an extensive interview to Germany’s “Die Zeit”, where he announced his retirement at the end of the season.

One of the best in the history of this sport is currently 77 years old, and he stated in a part of the interview that this will be his last season in his career.

“As I write in the book: once a coach, always a coach. I’ll always be active in basketball, giving lessons and things like that. But towards the end of my life, I can no longer be a head coach. I know, people won’t believe me when I say I’m quitting. But after this season, it’s really enough. I have a beautiful house in Barcelona, where part of my family lives. And I want to be in my hometown of Pirot more often. I want to experience life from a different perspective. But after this season, it’s really enough.”

Among others Pesic, as the coach of FR Yugoslavia, won the gold medal at the 2002 World Championship, in 1993 he won EuroBasket with Germany, just like in 2001 with FR Yugoslavia, and in 2003 he won the EuroLeague with Barcelona.
