Brose Bamberg head coach Anton Gavel is a leading candidate to take over Bayern Munich next season, according to ONE.
The Bavarian club is searching for a successor to Svetislav Pešić, who has announced he will retire at the end of the current campaign.
Gavel, a former Bayern player who finished his career in Munich, could now return in a new role.
The Slovak-German coach has built a strong résumé both as a player and a coach, winning multiple German titles during his playing days. As a head coach, he captured the 2022–23 German championship with ratiopharm Ulm before moving to Bamberg in 2024.
