Olympiacos took the lead in the EuroLeague Quarterfinal series by defeating Monaco on their home court with a score of 91-70.
The Greek team capitalized on their home advantage, as well as the fatigue of the visitors, to gain the upper hand. However, this wasn’t without its challenges. With another game scheduled in just two days, it is clear that both coaches need all their players available.
So, any news regarding the medical report is a “headache” for Georgios Bartzokas, whether small or large. Tyson Ward played only for 4:38 in the match before leaving for the locker room while Tyler Dorsey suffered a sprain during the game.
“Ward hurt his back and went to the locker room in the 4th minute and then it was 50-50 whether he could play. And Dorsey sprained his ankle. And when he came out, he had to play immediately so his leg wouldn’t get cold, and I preferred at that time with the difference at 20 points not to put him back in,” Bartzokas said at the press conference.
He added about Olympiacos‘s other two setbacks in the match:
“Vezenkov got stitches on his face and Corey Joseph had a facial injury.”
Next game will be played on Thursday, also in Piraeus.
