The season for Besiktas ended on Friday with a painful defeat in front of their fans.
Dusan Alimpijevic’s team lost 77-75 to Fenerbahce, allowing Fener to claim the Turkish title with a 3-1 series win. However, the evening doesn’t have to be so hard for this team’s fans.
Per Eurohoops sources, BSL and EuroCup finalist Besiktas is seriously interested in Turkish national team players Metecan Birsen and Sehmus Hazer for next season and has already presented offers to both players. Sehmus’s contract with Anadolu Efes also includes an exit clause.
Hazer is a long-time member of Anadolu Efes and played a significant role in the team’s rotation this season, so there is no doubt he would be a major reinforcement.
The same can be said for Birsen, who became a champion with Fenerbahce on Friday and also won the EuroLeague trophy last season.
