Baskonia officially announced the departures of five players ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, confirming that Trent Forrest, Markquis Nowell, Eugene Omoruyi, Gytis Radzevičius and Jesse Edwards have all left the club.
Forrest departs after two seasons in Vitoria-Gasteiz, having made 123 appearances and playing a key role in Baskonia‘s 2026 Copa del Rey triumph, where he was named the tournament’s MVP. The American guard is expected to continue his career with reigning EuroLeague champion Fenerbahçe.
Nowell featured in 34 official games across the Liga Endesa and EuroLeague, contributing to the team’s successful Copa del Rey campaign.
Omoruyi, who joined the club in December 2025, appeared in 52 games in all competitions and averaged 9.8 points during his time with Baskonia, while Radzevičius leaves after one season in which he played 55 official games following his arrival midway through the campaign. Edwards, who signed in March 2026, made 17 Liga Endesa appearances after reinforcing the team’s frontcourt.
In its farewell statement, Baskonia thanked all five players for their commitment and professionalism during their time at the club and wished them success in the next chapters of their careers.
