Bayern Munich announced on their website that they have ended their collaboration with five basketball players who wore the club’s jersey last season.

This includes Isaiah Mike, Neno Dimitrijevic who joined Munich during the season, as well as Stefan Jovic, Leon Radosevic, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes.

Additionally, Bayern confirmed that Isaiah Mike will be moving to Bahcesehir, and they will receive compensation for him.

FC Bayern Munich announcement

One and a half weeks after the end of the season, Bayern Basketball have made their first roster decisions: Neno Dimitrijevic, Stefan Jovic, Leon Kratzer, Isiaha Mike and Xavier Rathan-Mayes will not return to Munich and are set to take on new challenges elsewhere.

Forward “Zay” Mike’s new club will announce his signing this Wednesday in coordination with Bayern. From Turkish EuroCup semifinalist Bahçeşehir Basketbol Istanbul, FCBB will receive a transfer fee. The Canadian suited up in 37 of Bayern’s 38 EuroLeague games (9.6 points, 3.9 rebounds per game). In the easyCredit BBL, he averaged 9.0 points.

Playmaker Dimitrijevic was signed in early January. In the EuroLeague, the North Macedonian averaged 11.0 points and 4.1 assists; in the Bundesliga he posted 9.6 points and 5.1 successful dimes per game. The 28-year-old is moving on to Greece.

During his second stint in Munich, 35-year-old playmaker Stefan Jovic saw fewer minutes (EuroLeague: 5.3 points, 4.3 assists per game). He, too, had been brought in as a mid-season reinforcement at point guard following the long-term injury to Rokas Jokubaitis, as was Leon Kratzer.

The German international, currently on duty with the DBB squad, was an option at center in the first third of the season. In total, he appeared 28 times across both competitions and remained an engaged and valued team player within the group right through to the end of the campaign.

Canadian shooting guard Rathan-Mayes, Bayern’s first new signing a year ago, played 34 Bundesliga games for the club (9.4 points per game) and stepped up effectively in the semifinal series against Bonn in place of ill MVP Andi Obst, averaging 19.3 points. His EuroLeague numbers: 7.3 points per game.

FC Bayern Basketball would like to thank this quintet for their commitment over the past season and wishes them all the best for the future.
