Damian Jones is nearing a move to Real Madrid. Chema de Lucas first hinted at the transfer, while Eurohoops has confirmed that the two sides are close to reaching a deal.
The 2.13-meter big man spent eight seasons in the NBA, winning back-to-back championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Over his NBA career, he appeared in 279 regular-season games for the Warriors, Hawks, Suns, Lakers, Kings, Jazz and Cavaliers.
Following his last NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2023-24, Jones continued his career overseas. Last season, he averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China before moving to Puerto Rico this summer, where he has posted 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 10 appearances.
If completed, the deal would mark Jones’ first stint in European basketball as he prepares to bolster Real Madrid‘s frontcourt ahead of the 2026-27 season.
