EuroLeague Basketball achieves historic digital success during the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens, presented by Etihad, by generating nearly 300 million total video views and doubling official website traffic through strategic live broadcasts and creator collaborations.
Additional details were announced on Wednesday.
Per the press release: “Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce unprecedented success across its digital and social media platforms during the 2026 Final Four, held in Athens for the second time in the competition’s history. The event delivered record-breaking figures, further underscoring the League’s growing global reach and its ability to connect millions of basketball fans worldwide.
While thousands of fans packed the arena from May 22 to 24 to witness European basketball’s premier event live, millions more followed the action through Euroleague Basketball’s extensive digital ecosystem, generating historic levels of consumption across all platforms.
Euroleague Basketball’s owned social media channels recorded an extraordinary 145.6 million video views throughout the Final Four, representing a 45% increase compared to the previous Final Four and setting a new benchmark for the competition’s digital performance.
A key driver of this success was the extensive live content produced on-site throughout the event. The League’s pre-game and post-game shows, broadcast live from the arena and hosted by Spero Dedes, Vasiliki Karamouza, and Andrea Trinchieri, became a central destination for fans seeking exclusive insights and reactions. The shows welcomed some of basketball’s most recognizable personalities, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Alperen Sengun and Gigi Datome, who shared their analysis and helped bring viewers closer to the protagonists and key moments of the games.
The League’s official website, Euroleague.net, also achieved exceptional results, generating 8 million page views, a 133% growth compared to last year, and attracting 861k users, up 52% from the previous Final Four.
The 2026 Final Four also highlighted the growing importance of creator-driven content through the EuroLeague Amplifier Program, which brought together more than 35 influential content creators from across Europe and beyond to attend the event and create exclusive content for their audiences, generating a remarkable 146 million video views, establishing a new record for creator-led coverage of a Euroleague Basketball event.
Among the creators participating in the program were Matt Kiapitis (Canada), Ovie Soko (UK), Eleni (Germany) and Habi (France) among many others. Their content provided fans with unique perspectives, behind-the-scenes access, and immersive storytelling throughout the Final Four weekend.
Particularly notable was the collaboration with Marlon, one of the world’s leading content creators, who streamed live on his Twitch channel from the arena during the entire semifinal matchup between Olympiacos and Fenerbahçe. Through live commentary, real-time reactions, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content, Marlon’s coverage attracted more than 400,000 live viewers and generated over 20 million views across his social media platforms through Final Four-related content.
The record-breaking performance of the 2026 Final Four demonstrates Euroleague Basketball’s continued evolution as a global sports and entertainment property, reinforcing its position as one of the most engaging basketball competitions in the world both on and off the court.”
