Free agent forward Maxi Kleber may return to Europe sooner than later

German forward Maxi Kleber is the target of Hapoel Tel Aviv, according to Israeli journalist Moshe Barda.

The 34-year-old player, who finished last season with the Lakers after eight seasons with Dallas, may return to Europe almost a decade after Bayern Munich.

A native of Würzburg, the hometown of Dirk Nowitzki, Kleber developed a similar game as a shooting big, but never reached the heights of his iconic countryman.

He was part of the Luka Doncic trade that sent him to the Lakers; however, he appeared only in 43 games with them due to injuries.

In total, he has played 483 NBA games, shooting in total 35% in threes, with his most impressive performance coming during the 2020-21 season, when he averaged a 41% efficiency from long range in 50 games.
