Just weeks after his initial summer commitment to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, Nick Weiler-Babb has pivoted to join Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet.
The deal with the Belgrade outfit was announced on Sunday.
Completing a shift to the fellow EuroLeague roster, the 30-year-old German international swingman bounces back from his 2025–26 stint with Anadolu Efes. Standing 196 centimeters tall, the versatile Kansas native from Topeka brings elite positional flexibility, championship pedigree, and immense veteran experience to a rapidly rebuilding Belgrade roster.

The acquisition marks the sixth offseason transfer for Zvezda in a highly active market window. The newcomer joins a revamped squad that already features summer signings Chris Jones, Johnathan Motley, Patrick Baldwin Jr., David Kramer, and Vojin Medarevic, alongside recently extended core pieces Dejan Davidovac and Jared Butler.
Weiler-Babb, widely regarded as one of the premier perimeter defenders in European basketball, earned the EuroLeague Best Defender award in 2025 at the bottom end of a successful five-season stint with FC Bayern Munich, where he also captured two easyCredit BBL championships.
During the 2025–26 campaign with Turkish outfit Anadolu Efes, the naturalized playmaker averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals over 37 appearances, starting all but one match.
A veteran of 198 games in Europe’s premier competition, he initially launched his overseas career with MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg following a collegiate run that split time between Arkansas and Iowa State.
On the international stage, Weiler-Babb serves as a core piece for the senior German national team, notably helping the squad rank fourth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and capture a bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2022.
