Patty Mills has signed a one-year deal to join LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in the EuroLeague.
The 37-year-old Australian point guard arrives with an illustrious pedigree, highlighted by his 2014 NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs.
Over an NBA career spanning nearly two decades, Mills established himself as a clutch performer and a respected leader across stints with the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Utah Jazz, and Los Angeles Clippers. On the international stage, he established himself as an iconic figure and the heart of the Boomers, capturing an historic bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This high-profile signing serves as a highly symbolic reunion with former Spurs backcourt teammate Tony Parker. Parker, who is the president and newly appointed head coach of ASVEL, previously shared a masterful dynamic with Mills when the Australian served as his chief backup point guard in Texas. Their deep personal relationship proved to be a decisive factor in finalizing the contract, especially as the club navigates severe financial turbulence. The Canberra native remained fully committed to Parker’s vision in France.
Mills enters the EuroLeague following a spectacular individual season in the Basketball Champions League Spain’s Liga Endesa with La Laguna Tenerife, where he routinely recaptured his lethal FIBA Patty form. His stellar campaign with the Canary Islands outfit was punctuated by a 36-point eruption against FC Barcelona and a brilliant 29-point display to secure a win over Real Madrid during the Liga Endesa Playoffs 2026.
