Nate Sestina has signed a one-year contract to join LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.
The deal was announced on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old forward-center committed to the French powerhouse for the upcoming 2026–27 campaign, providing a versatile skill set, sharp basketball IQ, and lethal long-range shooting into the tactical system of head coach Tony Parker. Renowned for his exemplary teamwork and rapid adaptability, the mobile big provides crucial frontline depth and floor-spacing capabilities.

Sestina has already featured in 48 EuroLeague fixtures throughout his career, including 13 appearances divided between EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Valencia last term. He originally debuted in Europe’s premier club competition during the 2023–24 tournament with Fenerbahce Beko, helping the squad secure a prestigious Final Four berth.
Before turning pro, he competed in the NCAA for Bucknell from 2015 to 2019, followed by a graduate year at Kentucky. He launched his professional journey in the G League, suiting up for the Long Island Nets. In 2021, he transitioned overseas to link up with Israel’s Hapoel Unet Credit Holon. Turkiye emerged as his next stop, elevating his European profile with Yukatel Merkezefendi in 2021-22 and Turk Telekom the following year. His elite trajectory peaked at Fener, where he celebrated a domestic double in 2024. The frontcourt specialist then secured Spain’s Supercopa with Valencia before relocating to Italy, where he replicated his domestic success by hoisting league and cup trophies with Olimpia Milan.
Despite public financial constraints restricting recruitment options and derailing prior transfers, ASVEL presses forward with rebuilding its roster for upcoming EuroLeague and domestic challenges. Sestina aligns with a confirmed core featuring Joel Bolomboy, Both Gach, Edwin Jackson, Bodian Massa, Patty Mills, Mbaye Ndiaye, and Yves Pons.
