Branko Lazić decided to end his playing days after 14 years with Crvena Zvezda, winning seven ABA League championship titles, nine Serbian League trophies, and nine Serbian cups.

The legendary captain of Red Star announced his retirement during a gala evening organized to mark the 25th anniversary of the ABA League, where he was presented with a special recognition for his contribution to the regional competition.
Lazić addressed the ceremony via video message and took that opportunity to announce that he will no longer play professional basketball. “Thank you, I would like to use this moment to announce that this is the end of my playing career. Thank you for everything.”
