Sekulic’s influence on Barça was evident from the start. The team played with rhythm and hard defense, with Tyrese Martin and Josh Nebo standing out in the first preseason game against MoraBanc Andorra (96-101). New signing Cam McGriff did not play in Andorra.
All signings were available for coach Sekulic except Tosan Evbuomwan (shoulder subluxation) and Yoan Makoundou. Kevin Punter did not play. Young prospect Mohamed Dabone also got his minutes in his preseason debut.
Although Barça dominated the first quarter, Andorra responded to tie the score at halftime (48-46). Josh Nebo and Tyrese Martin made their presence felt before halftime. Justin Minaya and Stanley Umude were also important on defense.
Barça controlled the second half from the defensive end, but Andorra rallied in the final seconds to send the game into overtime (88-88). In overtime, Stanley Umude and Josh Nebo helped secure the victory (96-101). The first of the Sekulic era.
