Hapoel Tel Aviv continues to be active in the transfer market ahead of the upcoming season. After their return to the EuroLeague, where they reached the Playoffs, the Israeli team continues to announce new signings.
Tomas Satoransky, Zach LeDay, Jacob Toppin… and now Max Heidegger. The American player with Israeli nationality, formerly of Reyer Venezia and Baskonia, has signed a one-year contract, as announced by the club on Sunday:
Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv Basketball Club is pleased to announce the signing of guard Max Heidegger to a one-year contract, until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Heidegger (29, 1.91), joins Hapoel Tel Aviv after finishing last season with Burgos in Spain, where he averaged 12.4 points in nine appearances on 62.5% from 2 and 41.8% from 3. Prior to that, he made 17 appearances for Bnei Herzliya, in which he averaged 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 25.2 minutes per game. He shot 67.2% from 2 and 39.3% from beyond the arc.
Heidegger began his career in Israel, signing with Maccabi Tel Aviv and later being loaned to Bnei Herzliya and Oldenburg in Germany. He then played for Turkish side Markazpendi and Spanish side Baskonia, before moving to the United States and playing for the Windy City Bulls of the NBA Development League. He later returned to Europe to play for Italian side Venezia, and in the summer of 2025 he returned to Israel and signed with Bnei Herzliya.
