Partizan Mozzart Bet is closing in on an agreement with Robert Franks, according to a report from Serbian outlet Meridian Sport on Thursday. This move is following the arrival of Antonio Reeves on Wednesday, as the Belgrade club looks to reinforce their frontcourt moving deeper into the 2026–27 campaign.
Franks is expected to take his talents to the Serbian capital after playing in China and Japan over the last three years. Earlier in his career, the American power forward had already built a long resume. He went undrafted out of Washington State in 2019 but quickly proved himself. He won the G League title with the Lakeland Magic in 2021, which earned him a call-up to the NBA. He went on to suit up in seven games for the Orlando Magic during that 2020–21 Regular Season. His career has also taken him to Australia, as well as a stint in Israel with Hapoel Gilboa Galil in 2023.
Franks is set to join a deep roster coached by Joan Penarroya. The squad already features Kyle Allman Jr., Uros Danilovic, Kevarrius Hayes, Tonye Jekiri, Carlik Jones, Arijan Lakic, Joffrey Lauvergne, Vanja Marinkovic, Mario Nakic, Alessandro Pajola, Lamar Stevens, Bandja Sy, Nikola Tanaskovic, Ethan Thompson, Luca Vildoza, and Derek Willis, besides newcomer Reeves.
The timing makes sense. Partizan needs reinforcement to handle a grueling dual-competition calendar. They are flying high in regional play, leading Group B of the AdmiralBet ABA League with a perfect 3–0 record. EuroLeague has been a tougher test. At 3–3, they sit tied with three other teams right on the edge of the Play-In Showdown cutoff.
