A significant change occurred in the Serbian elections as the ruling party SNS lost power, and it was taken over by the Students list.

Among the candidates of the Students’ List is Dejan Bodiroga, the president of the EuroLeague, and according to initial estimates, his list won 52% of the votes, or about 135 seats in the Serbian parliament.

“Today, above all, Serbia is fighting for freedom and for the return of a country that has been hijacked,” Bodiroga told reporters in Belgrade earlier in the day.

The ruling party won about 39%, or around 104 seats, in the Serbian parliament, which has 250 members.

Bodiroga was very active during the campaign, frequently staying in Serbia and appearing at the largest gatherings of the anti-regime party, and in recent weeks, he was one of the main speakers at most of these events.

By the end of the year, Serbia is also facing presidential elections, as Aleksandar Vucic’s second term expired in September this year. The elections are expected to take place in December, and Dejan Bodiroga is mentioned as one of the potential candidates from the list that won the parliamentary elections.
