Olympiacos achieved a victory in the Greek League match, defeating Peristeri 91-62 on their home court.
After the game, Georgios Bartzokas shared his impressions, highlighting that his team had a very tough schedule in the past few days.
“We played on Friday, we had a double week, we had a trip. We played at noon. I personally, as well as our whole staff, have great respect for Peristeri. They won in Murcia, and you understand, they played without Nichols today. It was difficult to play two consecutive good games, but we believe it was a game that offered opportunities for players like Karagiannidis, who had an amazing performance in my opinion, as well as other youngsters like Netzipoglou and Plotas who found playing time and showed that it is very important for them to help us in such games.”
He also mentioned that this was a good opportunity for the younger players to showcase themselves.
“We have a large roster. There is no doubt, and the Greek players we have, I mean those who do not have playing time in the Euroleague, are very good players. So it’s a good opportunity. It’s very important that these 15-17 games help our team win every match, improve themselves, and why not, also get time and rotation in the Euroleague.”
Olympiacos is set to face Crvena zvezda on Friday (20:15 CEST), and Bartzokas noted that Evan Fournier is expected to be ready for this match.
“That’s the schedule, yes, that he will play on Friday. I think generally, from the training sessions, he shows that he’s doing well.”
