The Euroleague head coaches voted Alex Abrines as the 2015-2016 Euroleague Rising Star! The 22-year old guard/forward of Barcelona received more votes than Dario Saric, Cedi Osman, Luka Doncic, Marko Guduric and Ioannis Papapetrou, becoming the second Barcelona player ever to win the award after Ricky Rubio in 2010.

Although he undergone a surgery on February and was forced to stay sidelined for a month in the Top 16, Alex Abrines managed to stay on form, for the playoffs where he registered 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, plus a performance to remember in Game 3 of the series vs Lokomotiv Kuban when he made a career high of 25 points. He finished the season with scoring averaging 9.3 points in less than 20 minutes of playing time per game while shooting with 41.7% from behind the arc, for 40/96 three-pointers.

The Rising Star trophy recognizes the best Euroleague player who was under age 22 on July 1 of the summer before the season started.
