Olympiacos‘ co-presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Aggelopoulos were present at OAKA arena to watch their team defeat arch-rival Panathinaikos for the eighth round of the Euroleague regular season.

After the game, Panagiotis Aggelopoulos commented on what happened on court, emphasizing on the significance that a Euroleague road victory carries. “This is the most important part. That we have to do with a Euroleague game. It’s a road match, even though we arrived with the bus of the team. Other teams in Euroleague have a bigger advantage than us in that matter. For example the Turkish teams travel only for 12 out of their 15 EuroLeague games away from home.”

“This win is very important. Olympiacos has the team and the psychology. Apart from Spanoulis all others played their role excellently. We were also quite calm when down by 4 and 2 points near the end. We should have won easier. Panathinaikos made some big shots to take the lead. In the end, we were calmer”

“We have played again with Panathinaikos in OAKA for Euroleague. It’s totally different. First of all, one of the factors of the game are the referees. It’s different to have Greek referees than having foreign referees from Europe. One of them gave a warning four times that he will disrupt the game. Fortunately this didn’t happen. But yes, Olympiacos‘ psychology in both the Greek Basket League and Euroleague games in OAKA has changed”
