In the press conference ahead of the Barcelona – Andorra game for the Spanish league, Blaugrana head coach Giorgos Bartzokas described this season as offering… prime book material.
“What happened with Tomic is strange. I remember two or three similar situations in the previous season and nothing happened,” said Bartzokas in regards to the Croatian’s one-game suspension for “intentionally striking” Jaycee Carroll in the game vs Real Madrid. “And I’m not saying to criticize someone. You can write a book with what has happened to us this year,” added the Barcelona coach.
Bartzokas also emphasized on how his players must be mentally tough for the challenges ahead. “That’s what I asked them again. I want them to fight. We have to be mentally hard, win or lose. It’s very important in a club like Barcelona. The first step towards positive dynamics is to be mentally tough.”
