After a game that won’t be really remembered for the quality of basketball played, but definitely for how thrilling it was, Fenerbahce beat Barcelona in overtime and bid farewell to the regular season with a victory.

Bogdan Bogdanovic dropped 15 points (plus the go-ahead basket with one minute remaining in overtime), Nikola Kalinic added 13 and Ekpe Udoh grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds (along with scoring 9) as Fenerbahce defeated Barcelona 68 – 65 in the final lap of the EuroLeague regular season.

While Barcelona (Tyrese Rice 19 points, Victor Claver 15 points/7 rebounds) didn’t have anything to gain in its match, since it had been eliminated from the playoffs weeks ago, Fener wanted this win badly in order to deplete its chances to possibly finish fourth in the standings.

However Panathinaikos’ road victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv, forces them a spot ranging from 5th to 7th in the table.

The match wasn’t exactly pretty with both teams finishing the regulation with more turnovers than assists. With the score 61 – 61, Bogdanovic hit the long range dagger to give his team the 65 – 63 lead and then Kostas Sloukas (10 points, 5 assists) preserved it from the free throw line.
