Olympiacos is down 1 – 2 against Anadolu Efes and for coach Giannis Sfairopoulos the offensive inefficiency of his team in Game 3 was the main reason behind the defeat.

While the Reds managed to force Anadolu Efes to only 64 points at home, they failed to produce appropriately in order to make their defensive effort count, finishing with only 60.

Small wonder that head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos addressed the offensive issues his players faced during the match in the post-game press conference.

“I’d like to congratulate Efes for its victory,” said Sfairopoulos. “I believe that we lost the match because of our offense tonight. We didn’t make good decisions on offense, didn’t read what the opposing defense was giving to us and for 30 minutes we didn’t have some nerve on our game, neither moving the ball well. When you keep your opponents to 64 points at their home, then you win, if you are a little better offensively. Unfortunately our offense was’t good. We made 18 turnovers, which are a lot for a game on the road. But many of them were done without pressure. And this turnovers came due to lack of concentration.”

He then added, “In the end, we tried to come back but a lost defensive rebound, an easy basket for Efes and a transition gone bad from our turn didn’t allow us to steal the victory. Efes is ahead 2 – 1 and is one win away from the Final Four. So now we must fight for our chances to make the 2 – 2.”
