After congratulating Real Madrid for the qualification to the Final Four, David Blatt talked about what his team’s progress in a season that he characterized the strongest in EuroLeague history.

“First of all, a big congratulations to Real Madrid and to Coach Laso for qualifying for the Final Four,” said Blatt. “I know well what that means and what that feeling is and what it takes to reach the Final Four of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, particularly this year when the league was the strongest it’s ever been in history. And that’s an accomplishment for them and they’re to be congratulated. I am very proud of our players for their EuroLeague season that we gave.”

Blatt also discussed the series against Real Madrid: “I think we’ve proven to everyone that we are a team of the highest level in every respect, as a competitive group, as an organization, as players and as management and certainly as a unit that has built a very interesting and diverse fan base who will go with Dacka from this day forward for many years to come and that’s an important thing as well… We lost 3-1 to the best team, up to this point, in Europe in a series. It’s a fair result; they are a better team, now. We are not happy that we didn’t manage to win here at home, but it doesn’t change what a good season we had. “
