The club owners celebrated with the players in the locker rooms and didn’t hesitate to state that Olympiacos‘ goal can’t be anything other than winning the fourth EuroLeague title of its history.
As Panagiotis Aggelopoulos said: “This is our sixth Final Four in nine seasons. I don’t know if an other team has achieved something similar. Of course, there’s CSKA Moscow, however our success is bigger because we have a modest budget. We are a family. Vasilis (Spanoulis), Kostas (Papanikolaou), Vangelis (Mantzaris) and Giorgos (Printezis) and also the other players know what we stand for. We never back down. We had the home court advantage after 30 regular season games, we lost it and we took it back. Now we have to beat CSKA Moscow in the semifinal”.
His brother Giorgos Aggelopoulos added: “We did it our way against all odds. Even fans of other teams are cheering for us. Now we have to play against CSKA Moscow and we go to Istanbul to win the title”.
