Fenerbahce is closing on a multi-year deal with Italian forward Nicolo Melli who is a free agent after finishing the season with Brose Bamberg. The two sides had already been reported to “shake hands” before the Final Four and recent developments will hastened the procedures for the agreement to be consummated.
The reigning EuroLeague champions were also targeting Giorgos Printezis of Olympiacos as one of their main goals for the upcoming season. But following the Greek player’s decision to renew his contract with Olympiacos for three more years, Fener proceeds full speed ahead on finalizing the deal with Melli.
Melli comes off the best season of his career so far. He averaged 11.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in EuroLeague and 8.2 points along with 4.9 rebounds in the German League where he helped Brose Bamberg make the three-peat.
