Maccabi brings back big man Cohen

Adding some size and familiarity to its frontcourt, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv announced the comeback of big man Jake Cohen to the club on Tuesday.

Cohen (2.10 meters, 26 years old) has signed a two-year deal with the Tel Aviv team, where he already played in 2015. Last season Cohen played with another Israeli club, Maccabi Ashdod, where he averaged 13.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

He also had six double-doubles in the season, two of them precisely against Maccabi in the Israeli League. In 2014-15, he played 15 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds. He also played in Greece with Aris Thessaloniki in 2016. Cohen played college ball at Davidson University from 2009 to 2013, averaging 14.9 points and 5.3 boards during his senior year. He signed his first pro contract with Maccabi in 2013, but he was sent on loan to Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion before joining the Tel Aviv team.
