The two sides are ready to finalize their deal, Ponitka who is still just 23 years old, can be a solid addition to any team and despite having a contract with his current team Turkish club Pinar Karsiyaka for next season, his buy out is just 25.000 euros.
That means that Ponitka may take the place of Adam Hanga in Baskonia, who is ready to leave Europe for the NBA. Despite his age, Ponitka has won in 2016 the Polish league MVP award as a member of Zielona Gora and he was also the Eurocup rising star of 2016.
