It seems that the more CSKA Moscow is pursuing Chris Singleton, the more Panathinaikos is declining the offers from the Russian club.

The pressing efforts of CSKA Moscow to acquire Chris Singleton continue.

According to Panathinaikos, the “Army Men” made an offer of €800.000 to the Greek club for Singleton but received a negative answer.

The American center is bound to Panathinaikos with a contract for the upcoming season and the deal includes only NBA opt-out clauses that expire on July 20. If any European team wants to sign Singleton it must first convince PAO to release him… with a substantial buyout sum.

So far, CSKA Moscow and Olimpia Milano are the two clubs that have made offers to the Greens but their requests have been declined.

Chris Singleton stood out in last season’s EuroLeague and the goal of Panathinaikos is to keep him since he was one of the team’s most valuable players. Furthermore, it has been agreed between owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos and head coach Xavi Pascual that he’s one of the highly important parts of the core that PAO wants to preserve as much as it’s possible.
