Not only did Branko Lazic sign a new contract with Crvena Zvezda but also became the captain of the team.
As the Serbian club officially announced, Lazic penned a two-year deal and receives the aforementioned upgraded role, succeeding Luka Mitrovic who’s now a Brose Bamberg player.
Considered one of the most resilient and tough defensive players in EuroLeague, Lazic finished the previous season in the competition averaging 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
The 28-year-old swingman has been a synonym of success for Crvena Zvezda, since he’s won no less than 10 (!) trophies (three ABA League, three Serbian League and four Serbian Cup titles) in the four years he has been playing with the team.
