With a post on his instagram account, Bogdan Bogdanovic thanked the entire Fenerbahce organization, with which he won the EuroLeague championship in 2017, 2 Turkish League championships (2017, 2016), a Turkish Cup (2016) and a Turkish Presidential Cup (2016).

The 24-year-old Kings‘ player first joined Fenerbhace in 2014.

In his goodbye letter, he mentions:

When I came to this club three years ago, I never dreamed that I would become this attached to my teammates, the team, our fans, Istanbul, and Turkey…

I learned a lot about life and basketball. It taught me to always be devoted to the team and that anything can be accomplished within a winning culture.

The time has come for me to pursue my NBA dream and I would like to use this “good bye letter” to mention all the people that helped me along my path.

I would like to thank Fenerbahce‘s President, Aziz Yildirim, and the entire organization and its staff (Defne, Maurizio, Murat, Ilker, Egeman, Cenk, Selim, Ismail, Sefa, Faik, Yilmaz, Erkan, Burak, Erdal , Murat and Kazim). They were responsible for the best possible conditions and did everything in their power to make us successful!

I would also like to thank our assistant coaches, Erdem, Iski, Berkay i Ilker, and all of my teammates, Pera, Bobi, Ekpe, Gigi, James, Kostas, Jan, Kalina, Melih, Ahmet, Berk, Ege, and Ahmet Can.

I also want to express a special thanks to Bata Zimonic for the time he invested in my improvement and Vlada Androic for all of his advice.

I must give a very special thanks to the person that was one of the biggest reasons I joined Fenerbache, Zeljko Obradovic. He gave me opportunity and endless support no matter the circumstances. I learned so much about life and basketball on and off the court.

Finally, I would like to immensely thank all the fans of Fenerbahce. They never stop supporting the club and its players even in toughest of moments. Your strength and intensity carried many to many of our achievements as a club. This is not the end for us. You will always be a part of me.

The team of people I mentioned show how connected I am to them and how much they helped me. This was a very difficult decision for me. In the end, all of this is a natural path in my career.

What is sure is that a big number of beautiful memories, great achievements and lifelong friendships will remain.

Love you all,

Bogdan!
